2011

On to 2012
Back to 2010

Dec 29 - Prado. Land - Singles to a triple with blind, did fine. Water single angling over a dike, needed force due to crappy attitude, then help because that made him want to go straight. Then triple with blind, had to handle on middle bird, Rick said it was a hard setup, pretty much a flowerpot.
Dec 27 - Prado. All land - double with blind, passing bird double with blind, force to come on duck pickup.
Dec 23 - Prado. Three land singles with Rick, winger and launcher, then did as triple with blind - had to show him the blind to get him to come off of Rick or the winger. Did another land triple with blind later and blind went better. One force to water - did well, little bit of force to go and force to come.
Dec 22 - Little bit of CTH.
Dec 20 - Prado. Converging bird land double with live pigeons, one blind, force to water, force to go, moving attention.
Dec 18 - Force to go.
Dec 14 - Force to go and force to come.
Dec 12 - Heeling pieces in front room, moving stand, later on ladder drill and force to come.
Dec 11 - WAGD. No problem looking land triple with blind, but he backsided two marks with decent sized hunts, couldn't hear at end of blind and had 2-3 slipped whistles and casts, dropped.
Dec 8 - Prado. Passing bird on water with longish land after swim, blinds off of marks, one land double, one trail.
Dec 6 - Prado. Worked passing bird on water with longish land after swim, and water blind on an angle. Then land singles to work on marking and also crossing a road.
Dec 4 - NAHRA trial. Rick judging Senior so was test dog all day, for land triple and blind - needed handle on middle bird, probably because I rushed him?, and water triple and blind - needed handle on go bird, most likely because thrower messed up and both judges were talking as he was swimming out, so he kept glancing back. Also it was across a road a decent distance from the shore, so we will work on that later.
Dec 3 - NAHRA trial. Did very well on land triple that most dogs handled on, was clean. Next series was land blind in field covered with downed mesquite, plus he had an ear infection that caused him to not hear whistles so dropped (tho he did manage to finish the blind).
Dec 1 - Prado. Mostly land and water singles from winger, with one land triple with me throwing next to him, then repeated with me remote, some land and water blinds, one trail.

Nov 29 - Prado. Land and water/land singles made into doubles with blinds, mostly uphill at Freds.
Nov 28 - Wendy. Attention - mostly CTH, long marks/sight blinds, agility, broad jump, directed jumping.
Nov 26 - Prado with Rick - marking drills on land.
Nov 23 - In house - more messing around some with attention on collar.
Nov 22 - In house - messed around some with attention on collar.
Nov 19 - Poodle trial - Pretty blah in Grad Open, Q'd with 188 I think, First because he was the only entry and finished GO. Pulled him from Open.
Nov 18 - Poodle trial - Did OK in Graduate Open, Q'd with 191 I think, First because he was the only entry. Heeling in Open got better as he went along but didn't drop on recall and went down on sit. Was warmer by then.
Nov 17 - Poodle match. Coolish - in Utility he did OK tho heeling was pretty blah. Open much better and heeling got better as we went along, tho I had to chatter quite a bit.
Nov 16 - Out front - broad jump, stays with Proxy. For dinner - attention.
Nov 14 - Wendy - attention and heeling starts in tennis court, stays with Proxy and Fin.
Nov 13 - Little bit of attention work in house.

Nov 10 - Out front - broad jump, stays with Proxy.
Nov 8 - Marking drills at two local parks.
Nov 7 - Heartwell. Heeling in ring with lots of WOW, warmed up to it fairly quickly and did well. Retrieve on flat, retrieve over high jump, drop on recall. Wendy - moving attention around Labs and Wendy - very nice, retrieve on flat.
Nov 6 - Retrieve fronts, little bit of attention work.
Nov 5 - Prado - test dog for land series of WC, lots of style and go but couldn't come up with the memory bird. Later did middle mark of last weeks Master and was also having marking issues - obviously need to do marking drills.
Nov 4 - Prado - set up dog for Flat WCX land triple, using bumpers. First time he was totally uninspired and marked poorly, second time I revved him up during each throw and he was much much better.
Nov 3 - Attention work in house.
Nov 2 - Heartwell. Going into ring, heeling setups, retrieves on flat.

Oct 31 - Wendy. Broad jump, attention.
Oct 29 - Lab HRT. Land triple with walk up and honor. Steady as a rock, no problem with go bird, got caught up in heavy cover going to flyer and needed handle, then was going to switch on middle bird so needed another handle and dropped.
Oct 28 - NCCCRC - Too hot for him, something like a 189 in Utility and 193 in Open, for High Combined. Also first GO leg with 194?
Oct 27 - Prado. Water triple with double blind, land triple with double blind.

Oct 26 - Heartwell. Just a little heeling in the ring. Prado. Sight blinds on Long Lake to dike, then one of those off of a mark, long water mark then blind. Worked some on getting him to lock on when I say Dead. Later, land mark with live pigeon and double blind, did very well.
Oct 25 - Prado. Repeated blinds at Freds, did partial wagon wheel in water and a couple of sight blinds.
Oct 24 - Heartwell. Heeling in ring with Margaret calling, very nice. Wendy - heeling around her working River and Buoy, very nice; broad jump, drop on recall, fronts.

Oct 4 - Prado. Land singles working on focus on marks and quick pickup & return, one blind. Some attention under pressure.
Oct 3 - Wendy. Force to come, agility, attention under pressure.
Oct 1 - Sagehens. Got a really shot up messy flyer so he had to play with it and not come in.

Sept 29 - Prado. Long single to live pigeon thru two of the rollover ponds, then a triple, done in two different directions, long land/water mixed blinds, bulldogs, honor Proxy.
Sept 28 - Prado. Long land/water/dike/water/land single at Freds that he didn't want to do at first, put him up after two repeats then did as passing bird double - switched first time, fine on repeat. Land/water/land blind. Long land to water mark, had to repeat because again he didn't want to do it the first time. Moved to front field and did a long single then added a mark for an over and under. Set up blind with a white bumper showing for confidence and ran four times, backing up to about 100 yards. Bulldog.
Sept 27 - Prado. Long land/water/dike/water single at Big Lake into Long Lake, then double, then triple with wipeout bird on dike. Moved to Dike Pond, did land/water/dike/water/dike/water single then inline double. Moved to land next to Freds and did converging marks starting close and moving back to about 75 yards.

Sept 26 - Wendy. Agility, attention, triple.
Sept 25 - NAHRA trial. Started with water triple with remote, blind and land blind at Fred's, had to handle on long bird because he thought it landed on the dike, one whistled the water blind, kind of messy land blind due to lots of scent from dropped birds and bird bags. Then land triple on the other side of Fred's, nailed outside birds, buttonhooked middle bird. Flunked trail.
Sept 24 - NAHRA trial. Land triple had close converging birds and had to handle on both, blind fine. Water triple was a Gordy's and he acted bizarre like he did last week so picked up.
Sept 22 - Prado at Fred's. Quarter to flush, water doubles. Next to Big Lake - trailing.
Sept 21 - Worked on fast pick up of duck in backyard.
Sept 20 - Prado. Land/water/land singles at Gordies, did really bad, really being a jerk.
Sept 19 - Heartwell. Long backs, angle backs. Wendy - long backs, angle backs, agility.

Sept 15 - Heartwell. Worked attention in ring.
Sept 14 - Prado. Worked on water cheating, little bit of handling. At home, little bit of attention work for dinner.
Sept 13 - Attention and Yes pairing for am drugs, one recall then set up, one retrieve. Some more in the afternoon, and again for dinner. Also steady while the girls ate dinner.
Sept 12 - Heartwell. Worked on getting attention at setup in ring alone, using some WOW, later at home for am drugs worked on pairing Yes with food. Wendy - agility, little Utility work. Stationary attention for dinner.
Sept 11 - Heartwell. Worked on getting attention at setup in ring alone, using some WOW, later at home for am drugs worked on pairing Yes with food ala clicker training.
Sept 10 - ASCA trial. Finished CDX with First (only one to Q) and 195, then first UD leg at second trial with Second and 195. Tried to hit retrieve fronts and would start to offer some attention at end of heeling.

Sept 9 - Worked a little CTH at seminar, then more at home for am drugs with one recall then setup.
Sept 8 - In house - moving and stationary attention for am drugs, essentially CTH. More for dinner, with a couple of recalls then setups.
Sept 7 - In house - dumbbell fronts with rods. Some moving attention with tripe. Later, did moving attention out front for dinner, then added a drop on recall or retrieve before setting up for heeling and rewarding attention. Took some luring for him to get the idea.
Sept 6 - In house - stationary and moving attention waiting for him to offer it and with Yes, for dinner.
Sept 5 - In house - stationary and moving attention waiting for him to offer it and with Yes, one drop.
Sept 4 - Heartwell. Ann called Open backwards order, did fine except didn't want to give attention on heeling at all. Steady for dinner.
Sept 3 - Stationary attention for dinner.
Sept 2 - Heartwell. Long T, wagon wheel, stationary attention.
Sept 1 - Stationary attention out front for dinner, inside for beef

Aug 27 - More of the same.
Aug 26 - Started doing heeling/attention to remote reward in house for pm drugs.
Aug 24 - Out front - some working on attention.
Aug 21 - Sac match. Did a broad jump, then did heeling with sending him out to Rick with bowl of treats whenever he was looking cute.
Aug 19 - Reno KC. Good work in both trials. Third in first trial with 196 (?) to finish OM1, Second in second trial with 194.5? because he ticked the broad jump, to start OM2.

Aug 15 - Heartwell. Open runthru with Margaret calling, no stays.
Aug 14 - Some heeling out front for hot dogs, figure 8. Steady for dinner.

July 22 - For dinner. Steady to dropped chicken that the girls were getting. Out front. Heeling with very little luring, inside retrieve fronts with toy.
July 20 - Out front. Heeling with very little luring, random drops then fronts, one finish. Worked some steady using dropped hot dogs in front room.
July 19 - Out front. Put on collar for force to come but first did heeling out front with almost completely luring so he could learn to do it while stressed. Worked with harnessed pigeon and force to come out back.
July 18 - Heartwell. Heeling and figure 8 in ring while Margaret called.
July 16 - Downey match. Did Novice - started with luring but pretty quickly he was giving really nice attention without having to lure. Really nice heeling, fig 8 and recall - didn't do stand for exam.
July 15 - Backyard. Worked with harnessed pigeon - needs force to come.
July 13 - Prado. Blinds across corners of Gordy's pond, starting close with a visible bumper then backing up to about 75 yards.
July 11 - Wendy. Heeling & figure 8, broad jump.
July 10 - Barton Park. Heeling & figure 8 around distractions, recall then drop on recall, stays - went down on sit so did a five minute sit next.
July 9 - Prado. Set up land triple with Rick shooting at all three and live flyer at end for to work on steady so had Proxy pick up flyer, then he did the two dead birds. Repeated from different line and let him pick up all three. Land an water blinds off of that - land blind fine, water blind had to work on him not cheating.
July 8 - Local park - long sight blinds up to about 75 yards, overs, angle backs.
July 6 - Worked steady by harnessing a live pigeon and throwing it around the backyard. Let him retrieve only twice. Worked some steady at dinner too.
July 5 - Worked steady by making him sit while I was hosing the backyard. Later did the same thing with dinner. July 1 - little bit of random heeling.

June 29 - Heeling out front just before dinner.
June 25 - EGRC HRT. Broke on breaking flyer in first series, so that was that!
June 23 - Pepper's. Mostly blinds as the winger wouldn't work, also some hand thrown live pigeons to work on steady.
June 22 - Pepper's. Water marks and blinds, land blinds, land marks and blinds. Had some trouble with other trainers' whistles making him stop.
June 21 - Cherry Valley. Hasn't been mowed in ages. Set up marks to work on shore breaking, and did some blinds as well, all on collar. Moved to Peppers and did some more shore breaking off collar, then a water triple with a blind.
June 19 - Umpqua HRT. Second series was land/water, beginning with a land blind, then land mark straight in front, another land mark long to the right down hill, and last to the right the other side of a corner of water, with a long angle land entry. His blind was fine the first half, then he slowed to a walk for the rest for some reason. He did the blind itself just fine, just slow probably because of whatever the cover was. Crept badly on marks, judges asked that he be reheeled, then he only barely took the water on the way out and refused to come back thru it, middle mark fine, was at right mark but missed it, ended up behind bushes and by the time I saw him again he was way right and had to be handled back, which he did fine. Dropped due to too many mistakes.
June 18 - Umpqua HRT. First series land triple with walkup and double blind. Did quite well, tho first blind I needed to fix his line pretty much right away and second blind was a little hacky at the end due to scent from left hand mark. Crept some as marks went down.
June 17 - Denman. Rough time setting up water marks but managed to do a single to duck with a bumper bulldog. Later did same on land.
June 16 - Los Banos. 60-70 yard single with bumper (because I left the duck with the trailer back at parking lot), and a blind. Remote water single in canal, then land/water double with long swim to #2.
June 14 - Prado at T ponds. Water triple and land/water triple with blinds, had to work on going up hill, and taking an angle across water.
June 12 - Prado at rollover ponds. Water triples with and without blinds, then mixed triples. All went well.
June 11 - Prado at dike between Big lake and Long lake. Launcher (#2) about 1/4 way down dike, winger (#1) most of the way down dike and one hand thrown one right in front of him into water, line about half way between dike and tree. First two retrieves fine, no go on third, collar on, long discussion. Easier double with blind better, another double - nice. Did some force to go and force to come on land afterwards.
June 9 - Prado, at Long Lake. Long land triple with blind, then inline double on water. Didn't want to go on water marks so put collar on to do it and then repeated.
June 8 - Moving attention out back for dinner.
June 7 - Norco. Heeling, drops on recall. Prado - at T ponds. Set up winger at upper pond throwing duck in water, and launcher other side of middle pond throwing pigeon on land, with blind in far corner of upper pond, and blind in corner of lower pond, line about halfway up hill. Did triple with winger #1, hand thrown flyer pigeon #2 and launcher #3, then reverse. Also put collar on and did some force to water and force to come.

June 6 - Heartwell - heeling.
June 4 - Raneys. Flyer first then long turn to other two birds, during which he locked onto the Bumper Boy half way over, then didn't see the last two. Messy handles to all three and I gave up.
June 3 - Heartwell. Heeled in ring, drop on recall. Prado - land/water triple with blind, then with double blind.

May 30 - Prado at the rollover ponds. In line double with a third hand thrown to side, with double blind - only problem was long blind. There was a plastic bag floating near where #2 was and he wanted to go there despite No, but worked thru it OK. Later set up land triple with blind, did fine.

May 28 - Mission. Little bit of heeling near visual distractions. Prado at Gordy's. Rick set up a land/water Master test. Started with bumpers but he was so bad switched to birds - much better. Double blind, first fine, second OK. Moved to front field, set up triple with long 150-200 yard blind behind Rick - did a good job.
May 26 - Prado at rollover ponds. Land blind uphill, then inline water double with that blind, then triple with double blind. Later land single with difficult blinds - doing some water avoidance when there is a long land approach.
May 25 - Yorba Regional. Heeling.
May 24 - Norco. Heeling, figure 8.
May 23 - Heartwell. Fed 2 cookies prior but didn't do a warmup. Did only broad, drop on recall and heeling with figure 8. Broad 1/2 pt front, very nice drop on recall, heeling pretty good - lured wrap on abouts and on figure 8. Fed a bunch of hot dogs before leaving the ring. Wendy - heeling, agility.
May 22 - Basset trial. Coolish. Gave one scoop of Go Dog and two cookies then they went to lunch. Gave another one later and another cookie but he appeared to still be tired from yesterday. Ticked broad jump and 1/2 pt front, very wide on 1st outside of Fig 8, better on second, decent heeling except wide abouts, chose to not drop on recall, very nice retrieve fronts, stays fine. Lost about 4 pts without flunk.
May 21 - Raneys. Flyer duck from behind tree, then Bumper Boy bumper in pond to left, which he didn't see as he was still locked on the flyer, and a BB bumper to right. Pinned that, then thought it wasn't something to fetch since he'd never seen one before so helped him, buttonhooked flyer, then would. not. stay in water so ugly handle to last bumper. Blind about 125 yards and at about 100 yards he wouldn't take a back and was looking behind him again. Bulldog and honor fine. Very nice style and speed for him all thruout.

May 19 - Prado. At Freds. Water single and blind, then long over & under with winger and hand thrown. Later did blind over two dikes to mark that Proxy missed. Did nice animated work. Later did accidental inline double on land when live pigeon from winger flew behind my hand thrown mark.
May 16 - Wendy - heeling.
May 15 - Lomita match. A little poopier on heeling this time even tho it was cooler and he seemed more up outside ring and on prior exercises. Worked some on staying connected between exercises. Didn't do stays. Prado - tried to do land/water triple at T pond with Rick throwing flower pot and he kept refusing after a few steps into the water. After trying several things, it appears he has trouble with heavy mud.
May 14 - Van Nuys match. Gave Go Dog about 1 hour ahead, then part of a cookie for retrieve fronts. Rest of cookie one dog before we went in. Heeling started kinda poopy as usual but I kept the happy happy going and the last half was quite nice, as was the figure 8. Rest fine - used rods for the retrieve fronts.
May 12 - Prado. Set up last Saturday's second series at T pond, with winger throwing second bird and me throwing the flower pot. First time the winder didn't go so just the flower pot, then the whole triple, then triple with double blind. He didn't have any trouble remembering the marks or going into the water. On the short blind he wanted to either turn hard right at water to go to old fall, and I could see him behind mound, or hug shore to left. Had to show it to him, do a back from next to mound, then rerun. Long blind OK but doing some water avoidance. Yorba - minor heeling, retrieve on flat, contact training.
May 9 - Heartwell. Open runthru without stays and using toy instead of a dumbbell. Some praise during heeling, very nice, rest nice except he wanted to go straight to heel on first retrieve. Wendy - heeling, agility.
May 7 - Lab HRT. First series was land triple with walkup, honor and blind. He did quite well - winded middle bird on the way to go bird and stopped to think about it twice then went on to right hand bird. Nailed flyer on left, then needed one whistle to get middle bird. Blind fine tho not much style, honor and walk up fine. Second series was land/water triple with double blind at T ponds - line half way down hill with tree, first bird from winger into upper pond, then a flat bird other side of middle pond, then first station threw a bird up hill on land. He picked up the land bird fine and then appeared confused about the other two birds, even tho he crept on both as they went down and they were close enough and far enough apart that he shouldn't have had any trouble with them. All I can think is that he was confused about marks on land and water in one series. Wendy thinks maybe he needs more flower pots.
May 5 - Prado. Double from launcher and winger with dead birds the first time, then flyer pigeon from winger second time, with blind down the middle. Launcher and blind were land/water/land and winger was all land. Did fairly well.
May 4 - Prado. Attended Tellus's seminar and Dodger was a butt, tho improved when they threw birds. He still isn't comfortable going out 100 yards on a blind. Later went to the rollover ponds and did singles from winger throwing a dead pigeon, and sight blinds, extending both each time. Moved around so each mark and blind was different.

May 2 - Wendy. Heeling, choose to heel, agility, retrieve fronts with toy - really tried on those.

April 30 - Prado. Big fight over marking - he just didn't want to. Worked on a simple land mark, then a simple land, water, land mark with occasional blinds.
April 26 - Norco. A little heeling with food, stays. Prado - Land/water blinds off of mark from launcher.
April 25 - Heartwell. Open runthru with lots of food and praise, stays. Wendy - agility, backs over jumps to bowl with treats, a little heeling.
April 24 - dumbbell fronts in house.
April 23 - Prado. At the campground. Land with a little bit of water at the end blinds to white bucket, had to work on some speed issues at the beginning. Had to do a long water blind as a bumper got out into the current and was 100 yards out. Tried to do a land double with Rick and launcher but he didn't want to look as he had been wearing the collar, so did one mark farther and farther back until about 100 yards out.
April 22 - out front - retrieve on flat, retrieve over high with offset throws, one straight recall, fun heeling and some CTH.
April 20 - Prado. Nothing wanted to work so could only do long water blinds over dikes on Fred's. Ugly fight regarding holding a line against moderate breeze.
April 19 - Norco. Warm. Quickie runthru of Open w/o judge, did mostly luring during heeling and figure 8. Long go backs to treats later when it was a bit cooler.
April 18 - Heartwell. Open runthru with lots of food and "upness", stays. Wendy - long backs to toy, some heeling.
April 7 - CCRCA obedience. Two nice runs, no real errors except his figure 8 could've been better. 196 in Open and 196.5 in Utility for First in both, HIT and HC.

April 6 - CCRCA WC/X/Q. I was too cocky about the land marks and didn't really show them to him. Lots of creeping, then he sucked into the trees to the right of the second bird, where they were keeping the bird box, messed around for a LONG time until I got him out and handled. The rest went well, tho it is obvious that his backs have been short for a long time. REALLY wanted to break on the honor. Passed Q again.

March 30 - Prado. Land blind off mark from winger, long land-water-dike-water-land blinds.
March 29 - Norco. Just piddled around with some Open work and stays.

March 27 - Bozeman. Worked some heeling, signals, glove #1 turns, article turns, go back sits and moving stand in crate room, plus some fronts & finishes next to ring before we went in, with few treats and some corrections. Half a hot dog on chair but didn't make a big deal about it. Backwards order - sniffed a spot on floor as he came in on first half and went straight to heel, then just stood in front on second half. Moved a bit on moving stand after stay and fast walked in. After that he got it together and did very well - as it turned out, he only lost 1/2 point on the last three exercises. Won a runoff and then the class with 195.5 for 2 points to finish his OTCh, then won another runoff to win High in Trial.

March 26 - Bozeman. Worked some heeling, signals, glove #3 turn, article turns and moving stand in crate room, plus some fronts & finishes next to ring before we went in, with few treats and some corrections. Half a hot dog on chair but didn't make a big deal about it. Much better today, the only real thing he did wrong was a loopy finish on the moving stand because he thought a pebble on the mat was a treat. Really seemed to be trying to hit fronts and finishes, even on retrieves, and trotted in on both articles and on glove. Go back turns could have been tighter. 194 First for 2 more points. At the afternoon trial, warmed up in the crate room again with the same stuff the same way, as well as some go backs. Worked well again, judge took 2 points off for directed jumping I guess because he thinks I stop him too soon on the go backs. 193.5 First for 2 more points. Sniffed at a spot behind us on the moving stand as well as fast walking in but otherwise he did quite well. Half hotdog on chair and cheeseburger later.

March 25 - Bozeman. Cold. Worked heeling pattern, signals, glove #3 turn, article turns and moving stand. He was a bit high in the ring and sloppy but managed to hold on to win for 2 more pts. Did trot in on articles but moved on moving stand and jumped on me coming in on signals. Worked moving stand, signals, article turns and fronts & finishes in room.
March 24 - "Runthru" in motel parking lot, except no jumps. Dropped treat on return on articles and gloves, as well as on moving stand. Anticipated come signal so repeated heeling/signals at end then dinner.
March 23 - "Runthru" out front except gloves for am drugs, with extra articles. Tried dropping treat as he comes in, ala moving stand - seemed to work well. Rest nice. Worked close toy retrieves with dropped treat in house later.
March 22 - Norco. Utility runthru, started with articles and he wanted to walk in on first one, same with glove number two. Sort of warm, no Go stuff or warmup. Rest was really nice. Did some work on article --> cat food, article --> cat food, and glove --> cat food. Drop on recall and retrieve on flat as well. Stays. For dinner, out front, did article --> veggies, article --> veggies, articles and glove --> dinner. Talked to him about Hurry prior to doing each one. Did it again for pm drugs.
March 21 - Directed jumping, heeling/signals, moving stand out front.
March 20 - Fronts and retrieve fronts. Later more fronts, signals, moving stand, one random sit, one drop on recall.
March 19 - Prado. Land triple & blind with Rick, winger and launcher. Being a pill so on collar and did quite well then.
March 18 - small "runthru" in house for am drugs. Directed jumping, heeling/signals and moving stand out front. "Runthru" for dinner.
March 17 - "runthru" for dinner.
March 16 - Signals in house with distractions. "Runthru" for dinner times two.
March 15 - Norco. Warmish - gave two Go cookies. Ann called backwards order, fed when he tried, group tried to get him to mess up signals and it sort of worked. Stays. Did some signal work with distractions at home later.
March 14 - Wendy. Articles, gloves, moving stand, go backs to far second pole, T, signals near Murphy and tennis court.
March 13 - Apple Valley. Gave Go Dog before we left house, then cookies when we got there. Doing REALLY well and then ignored the sit signal, sigh. Would have been 196 or so and either 1st or 2nd. Worked on trying to get him to do it for dinner at home. Prado - Water triple and land-water-dike-water-dike blind, then land triple with wipe out and blind.
March 12 - Apple Valley. Two hours earlier so cooler. Gave Go Dog before we left house, then cookies when we got there. Backwards order, very nice directed jumping, 1/2 pt finish on moving stand, 1/2 pt front on glove #2, nice articles, very nice heeling/signals. 196, Fourth. Did "runthru" for short dinner.
March 11 - Collie club. Too warm for him. Gave Go Dog about an hour ahead and then cookies. Walked in on 1st article but hit both fronts, not bad on glove, so-so heeling then missed down signal, walked in on moving stand, nice directed jumping. Worked articles and glove at home, then moving stand later and some work on not looking away on signals by rolling golf balls near him. Did "runthru" for short dinner.
March 10 - glove fronts for am drugs, glove turns, go back, moving stand and heeling/signals for pm drug, glove front for dinner, field backs to treats on bricks.

Wendy - long backs with side bumpers both from my side and in front. Go backs working on tight fast sits, 1 set signals, gloves and articles.
March 6 - Tervs. The two dogs between David and I weren't entered, which I didn't notice, so we ended up racing into the ring and screwing up. I gave Get It on moving stand instead of Get In so he wandered around me looking for the treat until I gave a second command, decent heeling but didn't go all the way down, articles and directed jumping fine, I gave wrong glove #3 turn command so messy. Prado - land triple with easy blind, hard long water blind.

Feb 21 - Heartwell. Carl called a scramble. Go backs great except turned kind of slow, glove #3 booted him on turn to get him moving, then some cat food from chair. Lovely heeling, anticipated Come probably because Carl waited and/or a dog barked. More cat food. Trotted in on close articles and worked at getting fronts, traveled a little on moving stand, then more cat food at end. Wendy - go backs to treat, with one sit. Moving stands working on fast stop, gloves, minor T work.

Wendy - agility, go backs to toy beyond pole, close articles and gloves with thrown toy for trotting.
Feb 13 - VV. 3 cookies from 1 hr to 1/2 hr ahead. Warmed up with heeling, fronts and finishes, moving stand, go backs and glove retrieves. Also went to camp to do articles close up. Walked in on first article (1.5 off), had a talk with him about Hurry and he trotted in on 2nd article (0 off), 1 pt off glove #3 probably because of slow turn after pick up, 1.5 off signals, 1 pt off moving stand, 0 off directed jumping. 195 tied for Second with Art, won runoff for 2 pts.

Feb 12 - VV. Warmed up with heeling, moving stand and glove #1. Gave leftover Go Dog about an hour ahead and 3 cookies spaced out. Warm bordering on hot. Refused the bar then found it was set at 26", jumped it on redo. Fading to left at end of go backs, slow sits. Traveled on moving stand - flunk - but trotted in. Made effort to trot in on glove but walked in on articles which were between the jumps. Rather nice heeling considering, had to hold sit signal for slightly longer than usual. Went straight to heel on first directed jumping after arcing out to shade. Other than that only lost 5.5 pts. Not bad for hot!

Jan 18 - Norco. Hot. Gave 1 scoop of Go Dog about 45 mins - 1 hr before then one cookie for warmup. At home worked on faster fronts by alternating (mostly) throwing treat between legs and pulling it up to my chin.
Jan 17 - Heartwell. Warm. Did go backs to white pole beyond ring - needs to work on tight turn and sit. Got distracted on glove #2 and walked in, then did it again on second go, fine on third with encouragement. Heeling fine, signals nice, slowing down too soon on fronts. Wendy - go backs to and thru Lance box, heeling, signals, jump sequences, retrieve fronts with Hurry.
Jan 16 - Rick called pattern out front - very nice. Also a moving stand - he sort of hesitated/anticipated the stand on Rick's command so had him say it 3x before I told Dodger to stay. Left finishes with tube and fronts inside in front of mirror.

Sent him to white pole outside ring on go backs and had slower sits because of longer wet grass there, moved as Jeremy came in to exam on moving stand - 2nd try fine. Trotted briskly on glove #2 and articles, and tried to hit fronts, tho mouthing. Heeling was wonderful.
